Beloved flamenco teacher and performer Tomás Arroquero returns to Hong Kong to continue his teaching from October 2017. This time, Tomás will lead workshops from Feb 3-9, 2018 in palmas, technique and Fandango and Alegrias choreography. Full course participants from October 2017 and Feb 2018 workshops are invited to perform in student recital La Llamada on Feb 11, 2018. A dedicated and experienced teacher, Tomás is known for his elegance, precise compás, innovative style and technical ability. Course Description & Prices(F1) Fandango 1 Choreography Basic beginners level. Students will be taught a brief choreography of Fandango de Huelva for the student recital in Feb 2018 (two TF classes are compulsory and included). $1320/$1340 4 hours (F2) Fandango 2 Choreography Advanced beginners level. Students will be taught a brief choreography of Fandango de Huelva for the student recital in Feb 2018 (two TF classes are compulsory and included). $1320/$1420 4 hours (FT) Tecnica de Fandango Beginner level technique course working on upper body technique, footwork, rhythm and basic turns. $900 or $250 per class/$980 3 hours (A1) Alegria 1 Choreography For more experienced flamenco dancer who wants to advance their level. A brief choreography of a traditional alegrias will be taught for the student recital in Feb 2018 (two AT classes are compulsory and included). $1420/$1520 4 hours (A1) Alegria 2 Choreography For more experienced flamenco dancer who wants to advance their level. A brief choreography of alegrias de Cordoba will be taught for the student recital in Feb 2018 (2 classes of AT are compulsory and included). $1420/$1520 4 hours (AT) Tecnica de Alegria Suitable for those with more experience in flamenco. Intermediate level course working on advanced level of upper body technique, footwork, rhythm and turns. $900 or $260 per class/$990 1 hour x 2 classes = 2 hours (P) Palmas Suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced. Dancing to the sound of palmas (hand clapping) is one of the most beautiful parts of flamenco. Feeling these rhythms and creating them with your hands will be an unforgettable experience. Our experienced teacher Tomas will develop your understanding of different styles or palos, rhythms and skills while taking you through clapping techniques and methods as well as foot stamping, all as an accompaniment to Flamenco performance. This course is essential for all flamenco dancers and musicians. Opportunity for students to participate in the Feb 2018 recital as palmeros. $880 or $220 per class/$900 4 hours PERFORMANCE FEE (Fandangos 1 & 2 @ $600; Alegrias 1 & 2 @ $700) includes performance class and recital venue rental, and is mandatory for all who perform in the recital (Fandango 1 and 2, and Alegria 1 and 2, or a combination of). |
Fandango 1and 2, and Alegrias 1 and 2 contain different materials. Each palo’s 1 and 2 course together can create a complete choreography for solo dances.
